With Mail Tracking Solutions, each mailpiece is assigned a unique barcode number which is then scanned by the USPS as it travels through the postal system. We interpret the scan results and create a number of user friendly, web based reports that allow mailers to see where the mailpiece is in the postal system and when it is projected for in-home delivery.

This service can be used on First Class, Standard Class mail and Periodicals, and on flats and letter sized pieces. The service is accessed via our seamless Smartmailer™ interface or traditional web based service at mailtracking.pb.com.

The unique tracking ID in the barcode enables the mailer to see which pieces have been scanned for delivery and to identify those which were redirected or returned.

Mail Tracking Solutions allow the mailer to:  

  • Establish projected in-home dates and coordinate with other media
  • Resolve delivery problems quickly—while mail is still on its way
  • Measure campaign effectiveness faster
  • Look up results for a single piece
  • Identify mail being returned to the sender
  • Plan mail dates based on how long it really takes to deliver mail.
