Campaign Overview
Since 2007, Pitney Bowes and the American Red Cross have worked together to provide Americans with the opportunity to extend holiday greetings and thanks to service members and veterans through the Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign. Since its inception, the program has received more than three million holiday cards from generous Americans in every state.

This season, we are hoping that you will join us and Americans all over the country to help continue the campaign's success and reach this year's goal of one million holiday cards.

From sending individual cards and organizing card making events, to connecting with fellow card senders through social media channels to help us get the word out; there are many ways you can become involved with Holiday Mail for Heroes. Tips for Making and Sending Cards
Do...                                     

  • Hold a card-making event in your local office for employees and their families
  • Provide supplies such as stationary, construction paper, pens, crayons, and markers for your event
  • Entitle cards with generic terms such as "Dear Service Member, Family or Veteran"
  • Limit cards to 15 per person or 50 for business group
  • Bundle groups of cards in single, large envelopes

Don't...

  • Send letters, care packages or monetary gifts
  • Include personal information such as home or e-mail addresses
  • Use glitter - excessive amounts can aggravate health issues of wounded recipients
  • Include inserts of any kind as they must be removed in the screening process
