Balloon rates and dimensional-weighting requirements may increase the cost of your oversized Priority Mail parcels.

The Opportunity
For Zones 1-4, oversized packages of less than 20 lbs would be charged the 20-lb rate. For Zones 5-8, dimensional “dim” weight pricing would apply to Priority Mail® packages larger than one cubic foot.

• Reconfigure your shipments
  You may be able to reduce the impact of balloon and dim-weight pricing by splitting some oversized shipments into two separate packages and/or combining others to avoid paying the higher charges twice.   
• Consider USPS branded Priority Mail^® containers
  These are provided free-of-charge by the USPS - and they conform to USPS guidelines, ensuring your mail will not be subject to dim-weight or balloon pricing.
