Avoid airport inspections and costly delays

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires airlines to screen all cargo transported on passenger aircraft by August 2010. With Pitney Bowes, your mail, publications and packages arrive at airports pre-screened and cleared for takeoff
Comply with TSA mandates in advance
Since 2009, our International Services operations were recognized under the TSA as Certified Cargo Screening Facilities where shipments are screened as part of your normal mail prep.
Save on international cargo
Many airlines will charge extra for screening services. Mail screened by Pitney Bowes arrives TSA-certified, eliminating these added costs, delays and improper handling.
Bypass airport lines and potential backlogs
With no waiting, delays or invasive screenings, your cargo can be loaded directly to the appropriate airline immediately for uninterrupted mail delivery.
Maintain complete control
The required searches, X-ray and Explosive Trace Detection technology is managed at our secure, restricted-access facilities so you can be confident that the integrity of your customer mail—and your proprietary information—is safe and in tact.

Our post-9/11 world
In 2007, President George W. Bush signed the 9/11 Commission Act. Designed to protect Americans against terrorist attacks, this legislation stipulates that 100% of cargo transported on passenger aircraft must be screened—piece by piece—starting in August 2010.
Shippers who have goods and materials scanned at their local airport will likely experience significant delays, cargo backlogs and transit time increases.
Fortunately, a special TSA program allows mailers to screen cargo earlier in the process through trusted, vetted and audited facilities, which include all Pitney Bowes international mail operations.
